Text+ Curated Tool Platform for Editions (CSP)
Version 1.0 of a curated software platform for scholarly editions developed in Text+/NFDI is now available. The platform improves the visibility of software (and its authors) used in the field of scholarly editions. The platform also has the following objectives for the community:
- It provides a curated set of tools and software for working on and with scholarly editions.
- It provides metadata on software for the Text+ Registry, especially one of its functions, i.e. an open registry for scholarly editions.
- It serves as a hub for the further networking of software-related resources such as tutorials, teaching materials and workflows within Text+.
- It is integrated into the overall Text+ portfolio of services, such as the web portal, the Text+ Registry, Text+ Consulting and the Text+ Helpdesk.
- The curated data can be integrated into the larger NFDI infrastructure and beyond (e.g. NFDI4Culture Registry and SSH Open Marketplace, EOSC Marketplace) The participation of the development team in the NFDI basic service ‘NFDI.software’ emphasises the sustainability and interoperability of the platform in order to be able to provide the data beyond the project duration and integrate it into existing databases. This prevents unnecessary parallel structures and isolated solutions from the outset.

The SSH Open Marketplace is maintained and will be further developed by three European Research Infrastructures - DARIAH, CLARIN and CESSDA - and their national partners. It was developed as part of the "Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud" SSHOC project, European Union's Horizon 2020 project call H2020-INFRAEOSC-04-2018, grant agreement #823782.
