The Lost Generation Corpus
The Lost Generation Corpus project utilizes Streamlit to collect, prepare, and save the output of the 'Lost Generation' authors in a computer-searchable text collection, a corpus, which allows materials to be sorted according to authorship and text type. This dataset can then be explored digitally through this online interface, allowing for insights into how the literary styles of the authors developed and changed throughout their careers. The Lost Generation refers to authors like Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein and William Faulkner, with the Corpus providing a means of accessing themes like diachronic language development in Hemingway or the depictions of gendered roles in Fitzgerald.
