ArkeOpen

ArkeOpen is an open-access interface that lets you consult, query, and cross-reference open data from the ArkeoGIS research platform.

  • The left-hand pane lets you change the chronology and filter the results visible on the map according to various criteria (Periods, Thesaurus, Authors, etc.).
  • Detailed information is presented in the right-hand pane.

Creation of the tools under the supervision of Université de Strasbourg and under Free Software license following funding from the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (2022).

The platform is run and administered by the University of Strasbourg and the Maison Inter-universitaire des Sciences de l'Homme - Alsace (MISHA) on the Huma-Num digital humanities IR infrastructures, by a multidisciplinary team.

Shared data

The data accessible (datasets, chronologies, images and documentation) comes from research work, theses, inventories and books in the humanities, social sciences (archaeology, history) and environmental sciences. Following an alignment carried out on the ArkeoGIS research platform, accessible only to professionals, these data are presented here to all readers by their authors and publishers.
