If You want to share a dataset on the ArkeoGIS platform, You need to have an account with a higher level as "student", i.e. "researcher" or "admin". Of course, You also need a dataset of spatialised informations (X/Y or Geonames) with characterisations and chronology that You intend to share to the community or open through ArkeOpen. It can be in any format (spreadsheet, database, geographical information system, even a list in a text format can do). 

once logged, go to "burger" menu and choose "import"

You will need a formated spreadsheet, that needs to fit within our vocabularies -that mainly overlap with PACTOLS or AAT-GETTY standards. The ArkeoGIS manual explains this in detail

Once Your dataset is ready, use the online tool to upload and check it. More details (so far in french language only) are to be find here https://www.nakala.fr/data/11280/bafc9eb0 . Make sure the spreadsheet is a .csv (Comma Separated Value)file in UTF8 format with ";" as separators -and also that you have no semicolons in "Comments" or "Bibliography" fields.

Your file might have errors in it. The online debug tells You where the corrections are needed in the report (on down on the screen). Debug and resent until You have reached a correct file. If you are using GEONAMES for coordinates (on some or all the lines), switch the "using Geoname" curser to the right. Once done, You are ready to fill the metadata

You will find several steps of metadata in order to describe Your dataset. Make sure those are as completed as possible in order to ensure proper citation and reuse of Your work.

Once your dataset is online, it should appear in the Databases' list (in the "burger" menu on top right of the screen)

once online, if You wish to open Your dataset in ArkeOpen, You just have to go on the "information for the publication" screen of the "databases' list" and switch the button "public" to the right. An admin will then use the internal app in order to add Your dataset in ArkeOpen. NB You can add images in ArkeOpen, using the "WEB_IMAGES" column of the spreadsheet. Images must be in an open repository, NAKALA for example.
